This cake was excellent with the balance of flavors that make them so unique--a rich quality of buttermilk, fresh cocoa for the chocolate sprinkle, the sizzle of vinegar and soda, and a cream cheese icing countered with pecans. Those chefs who created this lovely treat deserve much applause because their cake possessed a genuine "homemade" taste--not the flat short-cut method box cakes that many bakeries utilize. Their creations take time and patience to master, and mastered they have in creating a cake that is exceptional--lovely in taste and beautiful in presentation.

This is the absolute best red velvet cake I have ever tasted and I have had plenty as it is my favorite. I froze some slices in individual sealed bags and when i wanted a slice, it took about 10 mins. to thaw and tasted every bit as good as the first piece. I got this as a gift and just ordered one as a gift for my friend's birthday!

The red velvet cake is absolutely amazing. It's moist and flavorful and the cream cheese frosting is not too sweet. I called to see if we could get one delivered for a next day delivery for a last minute family function and the team was so amazing, they got the cake out the door that day. The cake arrived in perfect condition and still frozen!! We sat it out and it thawed beautifully. Cannot recommend Savannah Candy Kitchen enough!!

This Red Velvet Cake is, without question, the best I have ever eaten, even among homemade and gourmet bakery varieties. It is so incredibly moist that it requires the incredibly luscious cream cheese frosting to hold it together! The not too chocolately layers and crunchy pecans finish the cake off perfectly. My niece in Savannah was helping her amazing husband deal with his sweet mom, "Nams" go into hospice care, and face the reality of a cancer that wasn't going to be cured. He was distraught, and I asked my sis who lives in Savannah, I knew he loved sweets, and she said Red Velvet was his favorite flavor. After a few difficulties and misunderstandings in an offer for delivery before Thanksgiving, the Red Velvet Cake proved to be quite a hit with our family. My only criticism might be that it could have used a few more pecans for my personal taste, but this might not suit everyone, so anyone desiring more nuts of any kind can add them easily themselves. The cake actually seemed to improve as it sat, and we continued to enjoy it during the week that followed the holiday.

I am originally from New England where red velvet cake was not popular. Recently, however, it seems the world has discovered red velvet at last so New England has recently jumped on the bandwagon as well. One time in the South, I had had a piece of red velvet cake but never found one as good, even in Florida. I give Savannah Candy Kitchen five stars for both the cake and customer service. First, the cake was so moist, and you could taste the trace of cocoa that is an essential ingredient of true red velvet. The frosting was real cream cheese, and not too sweet. I had ordered the cake through UPS ground shipping (with warm weather packing) to be sent to Florida, where I now live. Something happened when the package reached UPS in Hialeah, FL so the cake got stuck there, was in transit for six days, and was ruined. I contacted Savannah Candy Kitchen, and they immediately sent me a new cake by two-day air for no extra charge. It was UPS' not Savannah Candy Kitchen's fault that the cake got ruined, but Savannah Candy Kitchen was conscientious and kind enough to send a fresh product and pay for rapid shipping. The cake was in perfect condition this time. It was not only the best red velvet cake I have ever tasted but also one of the best cakes ever. I trust Savannah Candy Kitchen for its amazing products and service and will order again in the future.

It is so hard to find a good quality red velvet cake. I found your product on line and decided to take a chance on it. It was superb! Such a moist, flavorful creation, perfect cream cheese frosting, not too much or too little or too sweet. Loved it. Even my nephew who does not particularly care for cake raved about it. This is a winner and I will definitely order again just to keep in the freezer.

Sent Red Velvet Cake to friends in California. They are still raving about it a year later. This year Im sending to 2 families in NY and know they will love it. Not 5 stars only because I didn't get to taste it. But if NYers rave, next time it will be 5 stars.

I ordered this cake for my nephews birthday. It was my first purchase from Savannah's, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Everyone LOVED it! Even guests who aren't even that fond of red velvet cake repeated how delicious it was with every bite! I will buy more, and keep them in the freezer. It is even better than the cakes I get at my local bakeries! Don't hesitate to try this... You won't be sorry!
